Dave Brill's wonderful origami version of the traditional Japanese measuring box, or "masu." Unlike the simple traditional piece, this version has depth to the sides of the box, is very sturdy, and locks together beautifully. Folded from A-proportioned paper (provided in class) this piece requires a good bit of (accurate!) pre-creasing, followed by a challenging but very rewarding 3D collapse. Some experience with geometric-style pre-creasing and 3D work is required to successfully finish this piece.
