The Jellyfish by Carlos Davidson. Folded and photographed by Jane Rosemarin. See PDF diagrams.

Inspiration: Jellyfish are so beautiful, soft and flexible, that I thought they would be a good challenge in origami. This model was made possible through a pleating technique I leaned from Jeremy Shaffer’s Two Interlocking Rings in his wonderful book “Origami to Astonish and Amuse.”

Paper: Foil paper is excellent for this model. It is best to use 10-inch or larger paper. Silver foil with a white backing makes a nice ethereal jellyfish.

Note that real jellyfish have both tentacles and oral arms. The “legs” here are representational of both.
