I have a fascination for bowls/dishes and have created many over the years. The influence of Philip Shen on my work is massive, and I urge you to check out some of his work. Our queen (Elizabeth II of Britain) was irreverently known (to some) as “Brenda,” and despite my mixed feelings about the place of royalty in a modern society, I have a massive respect for the way in which she conducted her life. I created this dish around the time of her death, so it seemed appropriate to dedicate it to her.
