A color-change variation on a traditional hen, designed and folded by Francesco Mancini. The background paper, Fabriano 2, smooth, 24x33cm, 110g/m2, was decorated with acrylic colors by Francesco’s wife, Cloe. See PDF diagrams.

Even though I am a modular designer, I also like to create simple models. On the cover of last year’s OrigamiUSA convention book, Nathan Zeichner put together some of my animals in a beautiful drawing of a farm scene. The diagrams in this article show how to fold the hen. It is my variation of a traditional model in which I included a color change for the head. Happy Easter!

You can find the diagrams and video of the pig on The Fold.
