Diagrams: Penny’s Cube

Penny’s Cube designed by Nick Robinson and folded by Jane Rosemarin. The unit can also be used to make any polyhedron possible with a Sonobe unit. See PDF diagrams.

As with the majority of my creations, Penny’s Cube came from playing with the paper, no subject in mind, simply exploring creases until my intuition noticed a possible subject that could be explored. After creating a model, there comes the tricky part of naming it. We'd lost Penny recently, and she was a close friend from my very first days in the British Origami Society, so it seemed appropriate. You can read my eulogy here.
