The Felicitas Star. Designed and folded by Maximiliano Ortiz.
See PDF diagrams.
The Felicitas Star was created for PCOC (Pacific Coast Origami Convention) 2025, and it is named for my niece. When I heard about the call for models based on the dollar bill, I started playing around with rectangles, and three models emerged. It was easy for me, since my creations are based on rectangles.
Note on dollar proportions: If you’d like to make the star from duo origami paper, the 3:7 proportion of the dollar bill gives a 6.4 cm-by-15 cm rectangle.
I have written three books, “Origami Stars 1,” “Origami Stars 2” and “Origami Stars 3,” which are available in Spanish, English and Japanese. I’m currently working on my fourth book, which will be available on Amazon in a few months.
